Habitat
for Humanity
Chapter Programs
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, Christian housing
organization. They have build
over 100,000 houses across the United States. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has worked with this organization
for a number of years, as to implement its economic development.
Accordingly, the members of the Xi Epsilon
chapter have participated in the local Habitat for Humanity projects.
Ebenezer Soup Kitchen
Each
year our chapter members participate in a Soup Kitchen on Thanksgiving Day
that is held at The Ebenezer Baptist Church in Boca Raton, Florida. At this
event we, along with many volunteers assist in serving families and individuals
that are less fortunate during the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Thanksgiving Dinner
The Thanksgiving Dinner is an event put together in Co-sponsorship
with the Members of Kappa Alpha Psi to serve the students that stay on campus
for this Holiday.
Dress For Success
Dress for Success International is an established program that aims towards helping less fortunate women go forth in the business world. The project helps collect business attires and accessories and ships them internationally and locally.
Voter's Registration Drive
The voter
registration is designed to promote political involvement among college students
and to make them aware of the issues surrounding elections.
Delta Week
Each
year the chapter members dedicate one week to the Students of FAU by hosting
a week of free events everyday. In addition to providing entertainment, these
events fulfill an educational purpose, and are a means of relieving stress.

The N.E.T. (Network Education and Training)
The N.E.T.
is a program established by our chapter to help incoming freshmen, sophomores,
and even transfer students, facilitate the transition into our school. Chapter Sorors keep in contact with those
interested and help them with whichever questions they may have, whether it
be regarding academics, social or personal issues, all to the student’s
discretion.
This is also a chapter
program designed to promote interaction between students through reading and
discussing chosen books.
Organ Doner Drive
The purpose of this project is to accomodate those individuals who would like to be organ donors, and do not have the time to take the necessary steps. Furthermore, it is there to increase awareness on this subject.
