INTRODUCTION
Haveyou ever been to Beijing, the capital of China? During the Christmas holidayat December, 1997, 30 medical students from the ChineseUniversity of Hong Kong and the Universityof Hong Kong had the chance to visit the city and a cultural exchangethere.
Organizedby the Asian Medical Students' Association (Hong Kong), the trip was heldfrom 26th December 1997 to 1st January 1998. All of the participants arestudents of CUHK and HKU studying medicine year 1 (MED 1). Only with thehelp of the Xinhua News Agency (Hong Kong Branch) and BeijingMedical University (BMU) can this trip be a reality. We have visitedseveral medical institutions in Beijing and also met many medical studentsthere. Of course sight-seeing sections were included.
Itwas cold there in Beijing during our visit, with the temperature rangedfrom -7 oC to 8oC; nevertheless, it was a pity thatBeijing was notsnowing at that time. Throughout the trip, we received warm welcome fromlocal people.
