THE THIRD DAY : Sunday, 28 December 1997
What
a nice day! We have visited many famous spots of Beijing that day. In the
morning, we visited the Museum of Aviation. Many military and domestic
planes are on display. Look at the image on the right. Which leg belongs
to me? It is the one wearing black shoe and dark gray trouser. The air
in Beijing is filled with dust, coming from the burning of coal. Thus my
shoe was covered by a thick layer of dust, appearing gray in colour. Do
you know what we were stepping on in the photograph? It is an ice block.
Beijing was cold during our visit, it's temperature being below zero most
of the time.
After
lunch, we went to Ding Ling, or the tome of the emperor. It is a beautiful
place. Year of making is recorded on each of the stones inside.

In the afternoon, we visited the Great Wall, one of the wonders of the World. After visiting the Great Wall, one will appreciate why it was named and why it is regarded as the wonder of the World. It took us a lot of energy to climb the Wall, and some of us were unable to go down by themselves! Even though exhausting, every tourist in Beijing must visit this wonder, the Great Wall.
