About L&L's Warren

We are a new rabbitry consisting of my son Liam, and myself Leah. This is where our rabbitry name comes from; Liam & Leah's Warren. Of course, a rabbit generally lives in a warren! We are located in North Battleford, Saskatchewan in Canada. We have always loved animals in our family, and it was only a matter of time before my son and I were allowed to bring a pet rabbit home. Enter "Bubby". A little ironic was his name, as he was a B.U.B.(Big Ugly Buck) (false dwarf)! It was my two year old son Rhett who gave us the name - he could not say "bunny", but could say "bubby". Bubby was a broken chocolate Mini Rex buck (buck is a male, doe is a female). Bubby was bought at a pet store, and anyone who had seen his ears would know how he ended up there... Liam chose him, or really Bubby chose Liam.

Our First rabbit, a Broken Chocolate Mini Rex Buck

Shortly after Bubby came home, I happened to meet the lady that bred my beautiful little bunny. Enter Cherylee. Wow, what beautiful bunnies I thought! She showed us some of the Mini Rex kits that were a few weeks old, and the day old Holland Lops. Then she showed us "Handy Dandy". He was the cutest little thing I had ever seen! I can't remember if I really squealed, but I know I felt it welling up. I remember seeing the bottom of his back feet, and how fat and furry they were. At that moment... I was sold on the Holland Lop.

I had not intended on breeding rabbits, but the more time I spent with Cherylee and her bunnies, the more I wanted... bunnies... just bunnies. Now, I have a small herd of Mini Rex, and Holland Lops.

Wow! 1 year has gone by, and we have joined the NSRBA with Leah in the position of Secretary/Treasurer, and have been to a few shows! We've done well on the tables winning BOB a few times with our Mini Rex. We have also added the Lionhead breed to our herd, and have recieved some very nice stock to work with. We have sold pet, breeding and show stock, as well have had some of our bunnies posed in Easter photographs at a local photographers. June this year (2008) will see some of our Jr stock at Cancer Camp, playing with young patients! In August, this year as well we had the honour of winning Best in Show with our black buck Prairie Wind's Sensation!!!

We have met so many friends along the way with some becoming close friends (waving at Crystal, Karey, Leslie, and Lisa)!
