The Baltimore Colts

It wasn't easy growing up as a Colts fan in Wisconsin during the Packers glory years. Whenever we played football, everyone wanted to be Bart Starr or Paul Hornung, but my heroes were Johnny Unitas, Raymond (not Ray) Berry, and Lenny Moore. My love of the Baltimore Colts (they'll NEVER be the Indianapolis Colts) started with the first football game I can remember watching, the '58 NFL Championship Game.

This isn't going to be a fancy page. If you want a great Baltimore Colts site, check out what Ed Steers has done. My purpose for putting up this page is to help preserve the memory, and to share some great pictures my grandfather gave me from the 1958-59 Championship Games.

HELP! Back in the mid 60's, Ogden Nash wrote a series of poems for Life Magazine, called "My Colts, Verses and Reverses". My copy was destroyed last year and I'm hoping to find another. If you have a copy, would you please get in touch with me? I'd love to post those old poems.

I'll be doing a lot of surfing, trying to compile a comprehensive list of Colt links, but there's surprisingly little out there. Most of the old timers don't even come up in a net search.
