WELCOME TO JULIE'S PAGE

A first attempt! LOL

My name is Julie. This is my first attempt so please bear with me.
I was a college student at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana until May 2000. Starting August 2000 I will be a student at the University of Alaska Anchorage. I am currently majoring in Kindergarden and Elementary Education. And no, I am not going to warp the little kids minds (Melissa and Tony), just give them my opinions on things! =) LOL I have thought about minoring in Mass Communications but decided against it. I love to work in theater, doing anything whether it is onstage (acting) or backstage ('techie' or stagehand. I have also been a stage manager.). I have not been either in or worked backstage for many plays to date but I plan on changing that. To date I have been in "The Sound of Music", "Annie", "Grease!", and "Alky". I have worked backstage for "South Pacific" and "Golden Theater Memories". My latest job in the theater was as stage manager, prop manager, and just general 'everyman' for NSU's spring production "An Ivy In The Moss." It was a tough job, but I lived through it!! LOL I am a current member of NSU's Nicholls Players theater group. My last work with the Nicholls Players and with NSU was to work backstage for "The Bad Seed" in April 2000.
All through high school I was a gymnast. I was on my high school's gymnastics team and, although I wasn't very good at it, I greatly enjoyed it. I am sorry to say that I no longer do gymnastics but I do still enjoy watching it.
I also enjoy meeting new and interesting people. I love to talk to people about theater and the military life (I will be an Air Force wife on July 14, 2000.). Feel free to contact me about either of these things.
Now about my best friends. I have known Wendy for many, many years. We have not always been, however, friends. When we first met, it was in a gymnastics class. We basically saw each other as "competetion" even though we were very small children. When I quite doing gymnastics, I lost contact with Wendy. It wasn't until we were in the fourth grade that I was to meet up with her again. Once again, we hated each other. She hated me because I made the good grades and I hated her because she was "popular." Two years later, on the bus, on our first day of sixth grade, Wendy sat next to me. We started talking and became friends. We have been friends ever since. When Wendy told me in August of 1997 that she was pregnant, I told her I would support any decision she made. We were just about to begin our Senior year in high school and I prayed everyday that she would graduate. Wendy told me that her and Eddie, the baby's father, planned to marry. I told her I was happy for her, but had a strange feelng in my stomache. This feeling proved to be true. Eddie left Wendy in October of that year. That December, Wendy was faced with one of the cruelest things any pregnant woman, whose boyfriend has just left her, could ever face. Wendy, myself, and a few of our friends were at the mall shopping. We went into Claire's to look around. There we saw Eddie's ex-girlfriend, Alisha. When Alisha saw Wendy she told her that she had had her baby. Alisha then pulled out a picture of her little girl and showed it to Wendy. Wendy, not expecting the reply she received, asked Alisha who the father was. Alisha, very calmly replied "Eddie." I took one look at Wendy and put my arm around her and walked her out of the store. We went to a pay phone and beeped our other friends. Wendy started crying uncontrollably. She kept saying that this was the reason Eddie had left her. That he didn't want to have to support two children. She then kept asking why he would have cheated on her with that little thing. I just kept saying it was because he is a prick. Well, Wendy got over everything and on March 18, 1998 Jordan Tyler was born. For months Wendy had said she was going to give Jordan up for adoption but I kept telling her that I knew her and once she took one look at that baby she wouldn't be able to do it. I was right. Wendy decided not to put Jordan up for adoption and brought him home to raise him. Two weeks after Jordan was home from the hospital, Eddie came to see Wendy. A few months later they got back together and Eddie proposed to Wendy. Well things were going good for them for a while until Eddie started to be really selfish again. Wendy said she'd had enough of it and broke off the engagement with him. Jordan is currently 2 years old and a big brother. He is as sweet as could be as well as spoiled! Wendy is now married to Richard, who has always treated her and Jordan good. Wendy and Richard recently had their first child together on December 3, 1999. Austin Michael is as sweet and loveable as his big brother is. Eddie, on the otherhand, took his paternity test and the results were as we expected. Eddied was proven to be Jordan's biological father and was ordered to pay $288 a month in child support. Wendy has yet to see one penny of that money.
Now for my other best friend. I have known Melissa for about eight years now. She is one of the best friends a person could ever ask for. She is currently my roommate at college and in August will be getting an apartment with me. Melissa and I have our disagreements every now and then but we always make up. It seems like if we don't have a disagreement every once in a while, something is wrong! Melissa started dating a guy she really likes, Jamie, on April 19, 1999. She has been so happy since she started dating Jamie that she reminds me of how I was when I first started dating Tony or how I was when Tony would come home for a visit. Melissa was the first person to know about my engagement ring from Tony. In fact, it was Melissa who Tony talked to to try to find out my ring size. Melissa was TOO GOOD at keeping it from me! She nearly drove me INSANE!!!! LOL But I love her as a sister anyway! She was able to keep the secret from me for OVER a month. This was the first and only time I think she's ever done that! LOL She even told me what my graduation present was before graduation because she couldn't stand to keep it a secret! Melissa is also a great person to talk to. I know that no matter what kinds of problems I'm having, I can always talk to her about them. She always listens and seems to know just when I need advice or just need a friendly hug to make me feel better. There are other times when she would just tell me to get up and go to Wal-Mart with her just to get out of the dorm. Melissa, Wendy and Jordan were going to walk in my wedding. I couldn't think of three people (besides my sister and even though she has always hated me, my future sister-in-law) better to want in my wedding. Instead, Tony and I decided to get get married by a Justice of the Peace in Anchorage, Alaska where he is stationed.

This is one of my Senior pics. Hope ya like it.

Please come back soon as I will be changing this as I learn more about it. =)
