Church of Santo Stefano
(St. Steven)

The old church in Gothic style rises approximately where a primitive church was erected devoted to the first martyr, St. Stefano, and it is surrounded by a cemetery that has been declared a monument. The current church, rebuilt between 1941 and 1943, succeeded in connecting harmoniously the Gothic apse with the architecture of our times. The external façade is dominated by the stately figure of Christ in outlined stone and above the adorned rose window. The underside  is decorated with a sweet image of Maria, Immaculate Queen of Peace. The inside is a mix of marble stones and granites. The look immediately is struck by the monumental altar overhung by the bronze group: the Crucifix, the Madonna and Santo Giovanni (Saint John). The two Baroque altars, the altar piece of Santo Stefano and the Virgin of the Rosary are heritages of the old church. By the painter and sculptor Charles Bonacina are the paintings on the walls, likewise all the stations of the cross in terracotta.

The bell tower built about 1600 carries 6 bells inside.
