Hesket Newmarket is just ten miles of easy driving from the M6 and is about twelve miles from each of Keswick, Penrith and Carlisle. (The neighbouring village of Caldbeck is marked on most maps).

 

The nearest popular fells are Blencathra and Skiddaw - but High Pike, Carrock Fell, Knott and other local fells offer excellent walking for the discerning visitor.

Fell ponies roam across the Northern fells and occasionally wander through the village.
