Zimbabwe, Here We Come

Howard Hospital - A Salvation Army Hospital

Nell and I have been home from Uganda since November 1999.  We have seen all the grand children so much now that we are making a nuisance of ourselves and I think the children are ready for us to get back on the field.  I know that Nell and I have been for some time.

We had thought when we left Africa we would be moving to the Western Hemisphere, but God has called us to Africa and that is where we must be.  We even went down to Haiti and worked in a Baptist mission hospital for a month and this only confirmed that we must be in Africa.

We came back from Haiti in February and applied to African Inland Mission for a place back in Kenya but after 3 months of application process we were turned down.

Needless to say, we were heart broken but still felt God was saying, "That door is closed but don't give up!  I have a place for you and in the area of your calling!"

I began to search the "net" and found a Salvation Army hospital, Howard Hospital, in Glendale, Zimbabwe.  The hospital is a 125 general hospital and has a small surgery service that I hope to be able to enlarge. There will be only one other physician there unless more are brought in by prayer.

We have been accepted to Howard Hospital and pray that we will be there by the end  of July. We are now planning to stay there for 2-3 years or longer if God desires for us to.
