As I have mentioned on other pages, Jason and I are trying to make our first baby.  We both long for a little girl of our own, and we've agreed on a name for her:  Alexandra Anne.

Let me explain the significance of this lovely name.
Alexandra was a little girl I observed when I was a student at Middle Tennessee State.  As part of my education, I was required to observe a certain number of children for a certain number of hours.  Unfortunately, this beautiful little lady was hearing impaired.  During the first semester of observation, she was difficult, angry, and preferred to be left to herself rather than participating in group activities.  Something wonderful happened between semesters, and when I observed her again, she was an angelic child;  mild-mannered, loving, and happy.  Before this semester, she could only grunt and scream, but now she could talk...not well, mind you, but well enough to be understood.  It was a miracle, and she was such an inspiration to me.

Anne is a traditional name for women in my husband's family.  It's his grandmother's name, his mother's middle name, etc.  We wanted to carry on that tradition with our first baby girl.

We hope to have 3 children eventually.  I'd love to have 2 girls and one boy.  The other girl would  be named Allie Lee after an elderly lady I cared for as an intern in an adult day care.  She has since passed away, and is greatly missed.  She, too, was an inspiration to me, and my second daughter, should I be so blessed, will carry her name.  As for the boy, we're trying to find a workable combination of my grandfather's name (Kenneth) and Jason's dad's name (Frank).  It's not easy, so we may have to come up with a brand new name on our own!  Yikes!  Oh, well...we have time.
