Without You
(c) by Leslie Samford 1997

Am I the pitiful rag
you use to wash your face?
Then tossed to the floor
to be USED again
never to be replaced.

Am I just a lie in my own head?
Or is that what you want me to believe.
You can't decide what you want
So everyone you deceive.

In your hands lies a string
and you tug at both sides
Just to see how far you can pull
till it breaks at your side

Only the strong deserve your love
Well you made me that weak little string
Was my only purpose to be broken in two
By you and your strength

you once said,
"the one I love doesn't deserve such torture"
Was that really from your heart?
or just fancy words you muttered.

Why, whenever I put my faith in you
You always let me down
With your lies, your games, and your foolish words
designed to spin me around
Well you may have done one good thing
You taught this bird how to fly without wings
And this little girl isn't going to take anymore
