Klokwerx 1

- describes the reluctant passing of a lunch hour. A study in opposing articulations and changing key signatures. ~ Grades 2 - 3

5 to 4

- a playful rondo with the time signature changing from 5/4 to 4/4. There are opportunities for triadic improvisation. ~ Grade 2

8:29 a.m.

- a rushing-out-the-door dialogue, contains left hand motifs of 29 quavers and is a challenge for LH dexterity and expressive skills. ~ Grades 2 - 3

Noondance

- a quirky tale late 20th century mix of 12 bar blues, 12 tone scale in a 12/8 time with 144 beats per minute and interesting pedal effects. ~ Grade 3

Klokwerx 2

- a study in staccato and jazz harmonies with contrasting legato sessions. ~ Grade 4

First Light

- listen to shapes emerge from the dark in a pre-drawn landscape. This piece is mostly atonal and written on 4 staves to facilitate use of the whole keyboard. ~ Grade 4 - 5
