Liz is from Alberta, Canada - way up North. Her family runs a market garden up in Fort McMurray. Liz now drives school buses for Loudoun County Virginia. Robyn and Tyler get to ride along, so they have a lot of fun together. She has a twin sister, Julie, and an older brother, Nathan. Here's a link to Nathan's

I grew up on the water. Started working on ships, but now I work as a software engineer (building interactive web applications).
I'm currently a volunteer at the
Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company. My interests in fire fighting came from my grandfather, "Spike", who was a volunteer fire chief in Irondequoit, NY (Near Rochester) many years ago.
Kayaking: I LOVE kayaking. I do a little sea kayaking, but mostly whitewater kayaking. I also have a Mad River Explorer canoe so I can take the kids out on the river. Lizzie joins me on the river when she's not playing hockey. We're members of the Monocacy Canoe Club. One great thing about the D.C. area is that there are a lot of paddling options.
Well, the Hurricanes provided a bit of fun on September 10th - All the rivers gauges went straight up! I had to leave work a bit early to paddle the Potomac (Little Falls at 7.6 and rising). It was awesome playing in the rapids, we just had to watch close for debris (logs, tires, barrels, and the occassional dead tree!). Saturday I drove out to the Savage River. Wow! It's just an awesome run. Small/narrow river, but nearly continuous class III rapids for the entire few miles.
