Full Moon Ritual

Invoking the Moon

Silver moon with increasing power
Hear my dreams upon this hour.
Know my souls desire
Reflected with this fire.
Light of the Goddess shine on me
As I look to gain the knowledge I need
and 'An it harm none'
for the free will of all
So Mote it Be!

The Goddess Candle

This is a way to bring the triple aspect of the Goddess in to your
spellwork and your rituals.

Items Needed:
A Chalice like glass (this should be about 3-4"in dia. and clear) container.

Candle making wax "beads". (You can find these in most crafts
stores.) In White, Red, and Black.

3 wicks cut to the depth of your container.
(These usually come with the wax beads.)

Ritual:

First cleanse the container with soapy water and remove any
tags or stickers that may be on it. While you are washing it
send your own energy into it and banish all that have come
before. Rinse it in salt water as a final purification.

Next charge the wax beads and invoke the corresponding
Goddess aspect for each color of wax:
White=Virgin or Maiden aspect
Red=Mother aspect
Black=Crone aspect

Now for the creative part....Pour the wax grainuals into the
chalice in what ever fashion makes sense to you. In mine
I poured the Black, then Red , and then the White
into the container and then using my athame I
pushed the white down through the Red and Black in three
places as equadistant as I could. As I did this I imagined
the three aspects of our Lady as one and separate at the
same time. All the while focusing on my image of the
Goddess in my mind.

Next take the wicks and push them into the center of the dish.
With each wick invoke each aspect of the Goddess.
When all three wicks are in the container they should form a
small triangle in the center. Close enough together that
when they are lighted the flames will burn separately but
apear as one.

Use:

I use this as my Goddess Candle in all of my spell work and
my rituals. I cast my circle and call my corners and then I invite
our Lady to join my circle in all of her glory. I light one wick
and invite the Vitality of the Maiden aspect to join me,
then I light the next and ask the Nurturing of the Mother,
and then the third and invite the Wisdom of the Crone to
join my circle. At the end of my work I thank each aspect
in turn for her gifts and her presence and then I blow
out the candle.

Another way I use this candle is for comfort.
When I need the comfort and reassurance of my Lady I light the candle
and gaze into it until I can see her face,
which always calms me and helps me put my life into perspective.

I have found that this helps me see the Goddess as a true force
behind and part of my magickal workings as well as a
part of my life.

My Personal Affirmation
Taken from Starhawk's "The Fifth Sacred Thing"

Be free,
Be strong,
Be yourself,
Be lucky,
Be proud to be a woman,
Be loved and loving;
Live among flowers, surrounded by free flowing waters;
Live in the sun's warmth,
Breathing clean air,
Nourished by moonlight and starlight;
Know that you are welcome,
That you are a precious gift to us;
Be Blessed.
