Jessica's Role
In Jessica's first appearance on the big screen since "Valentine", she makes a celebratory return with three scenes in the motion picture, including two scenes with lines. Jessica plays the role of Evanna, the pilot and tactical support for the Precrime Unit. She is seen early in the film in Spielberg's riveting opening sequence of the Precrime Unit making an arrest just before the crime is committed. The franticness of the situation is amplified by Spielberg's direction, so look and listen carefully for Jessica's barbs with John Anderton, the character played by Tom Cruise. Her second scene is for the hunt of the now-fugitive John Anderton in a rooming house in the slums of 2054 Washington D.C. She has several close-ups in the futuristic helicopter as she provides tactical information to her fellow officers. She is in the background in her last scene near the end of the film.
"Minority Report" Trivia
This is the first time that Jessica has acted under the direction of her stepfather Steven Spielberg.
The publicity photo above is from a scene that was not included in the final version of the film.
Jessica's future co-star of The Practice, Steve Harris, also appears in the film.
New York Premiere
The world premiere of "Minority Report" took place on Monday, June 17th in New York City. She was joined at the premiere by Steven Spielberg, her mother Kate Capshaw, and her adopted brother Theo. Dressed in an Armani dress, one publication noted that she brought "elegance" to the premiere.
