In 1950 kittens born to barn cats in Cornwall, England had the most amazing looking coats. The Cornish Rex coats are very short and wavy. The coat is extremely soft... like velvet, rabbit fur or silk. The Cornish Rex breed has a distinct egg-shaped head with large high set ears. and body type. Large ears are set high on a comparatively small, egg-shaped head. They have high cheekbones, hollow cheeks, high-bridged Roman nose and strong chin. Their body is a study in curves...arched back, barrel chest, small waist and very long, fine legs. However, do not let their dainty looks mislead you; they are muscular and quick on their paws. Very little will be out of the reach of a Cornish Rex, but most will prefer to interact with their owners in games of chase and fetch.
