Inlaid tables and pyroengraving

These are a few pieces of inlaid art that I made around 1989 - 90, that is, more than 10 years ago. Inlaid is a beautiful art, and it requires lots of patience, which I have sometimes. Inlaid was for me mainly an exploration, and I never really intended to compete with the Iranian, Egyptian or Italian masters of the art.

 

The birth of Corn

         48 x 60 cms. aprox.

Different woods inlaid with mother of pearl, abalone shell, oyster, bull's horn, and bone.

This is one of my finest pieces in marquetry, both for the theme and the elaboration.
 

Phantasms

The following is a series of artworks that I am very fond of, which represent phantasms of my subconscious. Each one of them comes with a little text or poem that complements the picture.
