4dStunts (officially named 4d Sports - Drive) is an old PC driving simulation developed by Mindscape in 1990. The version seen here is 1.1 from December, 13th.

Please wait to see the whole animation below...

Me vs Skid Vicious. I was to his right! >:(

A spectacular impact!

So, one day a few years ago, I opened a CD compilation and just when I thought I would start to
browse around it a title on the top of all attracted my attention: 4dStunts - "A driving simulation with track-editing". Exactly what I was looking for in a driving sim. I launched it and got stunned!

The interface can be set up and the best is EGA with VGA track background. The point of the game is that you drive through a closed circuit in as less time as possible (strange, isn't it?).

Me in action again... A win in last meters!

You can drive against the clock or against an opponent.

Every track has its name. Five tracks that are pre-made carry names of your opponents: Bernie's, Joe's, Helen's, Cherri's, and Skid's. There's also a track named Default and all the elements that you can put on a track are put on it.

You can choose one of the 11 cars - from Lamborghini LM-002 (slowest) to Porsche March Indy (fastest and my favourite not only because of its speed, but 'cause of the easy way it's  driven).

The slowest

The fastest!
Lamborghini LM-002
max speed 126 mph
Porsche March Indy
max speed 230 mph, 245 if jumping

Any car can be in any of 7 colors.

Track editing is a special story. There are five types of terrain and five kinds of background: city, alpine, country, tropical and desert. You can put paved, dirt or icy parts of track, tunnels, highway, stunts like pipes, loops, corkscrews, etc., bridges and elevated roads, on which you can make many jumps during the drive, and scenery - house, granary, windmill, boat, pine, "Eat at Joe's", gas station, tennis court...
