Midas River Guide

This page was designed to help you through the Midas River.

You can squeeze as many as 100 coins from the Midas River on a single trip, but you have to chart your course carefully! Once you've started the waterfall or the barrel-jumping event, you can't pause until you've reached the end.

When shooting the waterfall, always take the highest coin. You'll have to give your B-Button a serious workout if the next lower coin is on the far side of the channel.

In your first trip down the river- you'll be able to pick up a few frog coins. Every time after that they will only be regular coins to snag! This is the best way to earn frog coins!

Keep in mind that the better you get at running the river, the cheaper the Frog Coins become. Snag 70 coins or more in one run and the cost per Frog Coin drops to 75 coins. Grab 80 coins, and the price drops to 70 coins. Fish out 90 or more coins from the river, and the price per Frog Coin is cut to 60 coins! Grab all 100 coins and the price per Frog Coin drops to only 50 coins- Plus you'll also win a bonus of 5 Frog Coins!!!

The image below shows when to collide with another barrel in the barrel jumping event and the pattern to follow in order to get all 64 coins in this event. Be careful to avoid the fish too!
