About the Boda Family

Boda is essentially a warrior culture. We have the best weaponry
in the game and spend most of our lives wondering around looking for
excuses to use it. We traditionally fight against the Imperials. However
recent times have bred good relationships with the Imperials so there is
much accord between the two factions at the moment. Aside from the
Imperials, traditional Boda enemies are the Barbarians. However also in
recent times, Barbarian forces and those of Boda have stayed away from
each other's territory. It is not known how long this will last. If one
was to ask who it is now that is Boda's enemy it would be difficult to
word an answer. Essentially, Boda clans fight now as individualistic
approach to politics and this passe on to war. To date, Boda clans have
fought with almost every faction in Midgard, including other Boda clans.
The general pattern is that a Boda clan or war group will fight against
any whom they deem to be enemies.

Leadership in Boda is also a very individualistic thing. Two clans
have proved themselves to be the top two leaders of Boda, Clan McCloud
(#3065) and V'RIDDI (#3084). These clans have worked together in several
battles, and both clans originate from Havn-Wyr. These two clans run the
Family, working together as a team. The junior positions for Boda senior
levels remain open and hotly contested. As head of the Boda Family, I take
the view that clans should be able to run their own lives, free from
constraints. Hence, Boda leadershiptends to be more a supportive arm than
an authorative one. This lack of discipline comes with the disadvantage of
a lack of organization. I personally feel this to be worth it,as I feel
the right to roam Midgard free from oppression to be more important than
organzation or control. Boda clans have a fierce streak of independence.
This fact should be remembered by all who work with them.

The religion of the Boda Family has traditionally been that of the
Ring Religion. However, after the last war, the Boda enemies, The Order of
the Hand, joined with the Ring Religion. The changes that have gone in
the Ring Religion have resulted in a dramatic decrease in Ring support for
the Boda Family, to the point of non-existance. This has led many within
the Family to wonder whether the Ring should be forced to aid the Family
as in the days of old, or it the Ring should be abadoned as a faith.
Personally, I am an Midgard agnostic, and I believe most of the Family is
likewise. It seems that the religion of choice for Boda is "undecided".

One of the prime aims of Boda is to preserve the freedom of the
people of Midgard. To this ends Boda forces stand opposed to invasions,
and to regimes of oppression. I, Conner McCloud of the Clan McCloud,
currently have a bounty of some 10,000,000 ic on my head for speaking out
against the oppression of Imperial rule. It seems freedom of speech is
not as valued by some as it is by others. The Boda Family values freedom,
not chaos or anarchy, but the right to live one's life free from
oppression by those stronger than the oppressed.

Another on to the primary aims of Boda is the preservation of
Boda lands, people and culture. The Boda Family do fight amongst
themselves, but that is an internal affair. Attacks from outside forces
are not welcome and have been dealt with fiercely in the past, as they
will be dealt with in the future. Boda also revenge their losses and do
not shy from war.

There is not much else to say about the Boda Family, at least as I
know it. The two most important things to remember are: (1) the
independence with which Boda clans conduct themselves, and the freedom
which they value so highly; and (2) the weaponry they carry to back that
up, simply the most powerful in Midgard, and second to none. Another fact
to remember about the Boda Family is that, as a faction, it is second only
to the Imperials in terms of sheer size and power. With Boda armies
fighting by your side, and intelligent generals directing them, victory
can almost be assured.
