Winter 2006 was cooler than average.

Was it warm in the context of the 129-year record?

In the global warming scenario, it is suggested that in this part of the world we should be experiencing wetter winters and drier summers. Is there evidence for this yet?

The trends are hardly statistically significant in that they are both rather less than the standard deviations
for the summer (67mm) and winter (93mm) series.
