QuestionHow does one cook an artichoke? Can you give me any good tips or hints and a good recipe to go along with it.

The Truth As I See It!
Here's a hint for ya: Don't bother! I rank artichoke right up there with kale for tasty veggie. But if you insist on knowing, here's what you do:
Step1:Snap off the stem and cut the bottom so that it'll sit flat. Pull off outer leaves and trim thorny tips off. Cut off about 3/4 of an inch from the pointed top.
As far as a good recipe to go with it, I'll give you an easy and quick one that'll impress anyone with your cooking ability! I'd recommend you just have this and throw away the artichokes all together! This recipe is a keeper so get ready:
Step 2:Place one inch of water in saucepan and bring to a boil; while waiting, rub artichoke with a half lemon. Place artichokes in boiling water standing on stem end, reduce heat, cover, and let steam for 30 minutes or until tender.
Step 3:To eat, tear off leaves and scrape flesh off between teeth. Dip in either garlic or lemon vinaigrette sauce so that they actually taste good!
2 half chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2/3 cup water
3 tbsp. smooth peanut butter
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1 green onion, sliced
In a nonstick frying pan, cook chicken over medium heat until no longer pink inside; about 10 minutes per side. Remove chicken from pan, and wipe pan with damp paper towel. Return pan to burner, reducing heat, and add soup, water, peanut butter, and spices. Mix well till thoroughly blended, and bring to a gentle boil. Return chicken to pan and and reheat. Serve over brown rice or baby potatoes and top with green onion. Sauce is equally good with pork meatballs, pork chops, steak, or steamed vegetables; just skip the first step involving the chicken. Enjoy!
