The LCJH Band Page

Welcome to the Little Cypress Junior High Band Page. You are the visitor since April 21, 1998 to visit our page. Our Junior High Band Program follows some of the many traditions of the High School Band (especially in winning streaks!) The main activities that our band participates in are Pep Rallies, All-Region Band, Region Solo and Ensemble, and Region Concert and Sightreading Contest. We just finished up our pep rally season as well as All-Region Tryouts on December 6, 1997. Several students were selected for the two Region Bands. The LCJH Symphonic Band has also been receiving the Sweepstakes rating at Concert and Sightreading Contest consecutively for the past several years.

We had Solo and Ensemble in February and Concert & Sightreading Contest April 8th. At Contest and Sightreading we made a 221 on stage and straight ones in sightreading. We also have three different bands, and they are:

Beginner Band6th gradeInstructional Band

The Symphonic Band consists of the highest level of musicianship at our school. This band represents the LCJH band program at Region Concert and Sightreading Contest each year. The Symphonic Band also performs at Pep Rallies, the Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert. Click here for a Symphonic Band Roster.

The Concert Band is the secondary performing ensemble. Many times students in this band advance to Symphonic in 8th grade after being in this band their 7th grade year. This band performs at Pep Rallies, the Christmas Concert and the Spring Concert. Click here for a Concert Band Roster.

The Beginning Band usually only consists of 6th graders, but some students don't begin band until 7th or 8th grade, in which case they are placed in this band. The Beginning Band is the most highly instructional band in which the students become familiar with their horns and prepare for higher level music. The Beginning Band performs at the Christmas and Spring Concerts. Click here for a Beginner Band Roster.
