This is how we can accept God's gift of redemption from sin.
Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
This is how the Bible says you can become saved and go to heaven when you die.
It is not by being baptized or by being a good person that will get a person
to heaven. You must confess that Jesus was God's Son, and believe that He
died on the cross for all your sins and that God
raised him from the dead. That's all there is to it. This results in
righteousness before God that you can't get any other way. How could a
sinful person ever attain righteousness on his own? He can't. That is why
God sent Jesus to earth. Jesus was perfection, without the sinful nature
that we are all born with, and he was sacrificed as payment for every
man's sins. Jesus died for all of your sins and mine.
