All downloads on the website are compressed.   So you will  need Winzip in order to extract the files.  So download it from winzip.com

How do I make...
Icons

Making icons is really quite simple.   What you need is the proper program.  My program  of choice is Microangelo.   So go get it and start experimenting.

Themes

Themes are easy to make, but take a long time. The instructions to theme making are also long.
So instead of me providing you with the info, I will point you to this great site that covers it all.

The little flags on the start button

Well let me point you to the website where I learned to make them.
Just follow the instructions and you will have no problem.

I need further help installing...
Icons

(note: the following instructions do not work on the 'My Computer', 'My Briefcase', 'Recycle Bin',
and 'Network Neighborhood' icons. I do not know how to change those. Sorry.)

Right-click on which ever icon you would like to change. Click on 'Properties'. Click on the 'Shortcut' tab.  Click on the 'Change Icon' button. Click 'Browse'. Now you can search your computer and find which ever icon you would like to appear. Once you find the icon, click it once and click 'Open'.
Click 'ok' and continue to click 'ok' until the window you are working on closes.

Splash(startup and shutdown) screens
I cant see the files

That's easy to remedy.  Just follow along here.  First open up your 'Windows Explorer'.  Click on 'View'.   Go and click on 'Options'.  Once there, click on 'Show all files'.  Click 'Ok'.  Done, you should be able to see the files now.

They won't install

Taken from Animated Logo F.A.Q.

2.4 I replaced the LOGO.SYS, but the original logo still displays. There are usually two different
possibilities in this case, the first and most common is that your C: drive has been compressed,
in which case the LOGO file needs to be placed on the HOST drive. The second possibility is that
either the logo is an invalid format or wasn't placed in C:\ or named LOGO.SYS

The little flags(icons) on the start button

If you still need help after reading this, don't hesitate to e-mail me.
Remember, if you follow this step by step, it will work.  Read it slow and carefully, it isn't that hard.

If you like, you can first try it on some test files before you try it on the user.exe file.
Oh yea, you might want to print this up before you try it.  Once your in DOS you wont be able

to access this and you will not be able to follow along.  I should warn you, if you screw up installing this.  It screws up your computer.

Here we go...

1) Unzip User0.exe to any directory
2)Move(not copy!) the User0.exe to your c:\windows\system directory
3) go into DOS, not DOS PROMPT, cause it wont work there
4)in DOS make sure your root directory is c:\windows\system>

-when your first enter DOS, you will already be here(usually)

-on the screen it should look like this -> c:\windows\system>

5)back up your old User.exe by renaming it

    e.g. ren user.exe user1.exe

-you are now currently at c:\windows\system
-if you followed step 2, the flag you downloaded is also at c:\windows\system

'ren OriginalName NewName' (without the quotes of course)

-'ren' stands for rename. 'OriginalName' stands for the original name of the file you want to rename.
'NewName' stands for the new name you want to give the file your trying to rename.

-eg. if you want to rename the original user.exe file to tony.exe do this...

'ren user.exe tony.exe' don't forget the '.exe' part

-OR, if you want to rename a billy picture, billy.bmp to billybald.bmp do this...

'ren billy.bmp billybald.bmp' -don't forget the '.bmp' part

-anyways, when you type everything in DOS, this is what you would see...

BEFORE TYPING(you wont see this of course)

- c:\windows\system>

DURING TYPING(you wont see this of course)

- c:\windows\system>ren user.exe originaluser.exe (now you hit 'enter')

AFTER TYPING(you wont see this of course)

- c:\windows\system>

-after renaming, you will get nothing telling you if it worked or not

6)now rename User0.exe to user.exe e.g. ren user0.exe user.exe

-just follow the above steps, but this time rename the flag to user.exe.

Remember the little picture on the start button. it must always be called user.exe.
It must always be in the c:\windows\system folder.  Otherwise your computer will screw up and    windows will not start up.

BEFORE TYPING(you wont see this of course)

- c:\windows\system>

DURING TYPING(you wont see this of course)

- c:\windows\system>ren user0.exe user.exe (now you hit 'enter')

AFTER TYPING(you wont see this of course)

- c:\windows\system>

I hope this helps. I tried to make it as easy and in-depth as possible. if you still need help just let me know.
