Rebel Without a Clue

Greetings, fellow web surfer! How I have psyched you into coming down here to find out more about me is certainly a mystery. After all, I am but an ordinary human being in his teenage years living in a country found at the southern tip of Malaysia known as Singapore. Here in this mostly chewing-gum-free environment, I study in Raffles Institution - a secondary school which bears the name of the modern day founder of our isle.

As of 1997, I shall be 15 years old and in Secondary 3. I am in the Gifted Education Programme which is a special programme in which students undergo a test in Primary 3 (age 9) and selected pupils are then invited to enter the programme at a few schools in Singapore. I opted for Anglo-Chinese Primary School [now known as Anglo-Chinese School (Barker Road)]. Some pupils who did not meet the requirements at Primary 3 may be given a chance again to enter the programme after taking their Primary Six Leaving Examinations. They would then be able to enter either the G.E. Programmes in Raffles Institution, Raffles Girls' School (Secondary), Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) or Dunman High Scool.

Since my childhood days, I have always enjoyed good music. However, my tastes have changed throughout my life. Enjoying softer pop previously, I shifted interests to rhythm & blues somewhere in Primary School. Now, I prefer harder, experimental and more raw sounds found in the likes of bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, U2 and my favourite all-time band, the Smashing Pumpkins.

Soccer has also been a big part of my childhood. I'd always loved the sport, and I still do. The only difference is that back in Primary School, there was always so much more time to actually play the game, follow the various leagues around and all that stuff. Secondary School now takes up so much of my time that I haven't really been keeping up with current leagues and all much, just things like basic standings in leagues and things like that. Anyway, my fave teams are Arsenal and AC Milan. Fave all-time player is Marco van Basten. Cool fellow, pity the injury which forced him to retire though.

I shall be a senior when school reopens next year. Teachers always warn how boys lose their brains in their long pants. Hmm... I wonder how true that will be! Anyway, I am in the Raffles Guitar Ensemble as well as in Raffles Players which is a drama group. I am also in Hullett House.

Oh, on the topic of guitars, I'm an avid guitar player. In school we kinda just learn loadsa classical stuff. But I search the internet for lotsa tabs and stuff for Pumpkins tabs, Nirvana tabs and other things like that.
