Funky Fresh Pan-ethnic Asian Girls was born out of the first west coast Asian Women's Conference held at UCSD May 20-21, 1994. It came out of the need to find alternative artistic venues of empowerment and self-expression. The theater troupe began as a medium for personal empowerment through theatre and has made a transition to presenting performances to various audiences.
