Got an Essay, Satire or Review to Send?
The Lodge is looking for a few good writings:
- Funny or serious items on topics related to freedom, any reasonable length.
- I don't have to agree entirely with the viewpoint expressed, but I have to find the ideas daring, provocative, unusual and freedom-promoting. No cliches. No parroting of anybody's party line, please.
- Book and movie reviews are especially welcome: SF books, political novels, current controversies, movies with freedom (or anti-freedom) themes.
- Writings that carry the stamp and spark of your personality are most welcome. The Lodge isn't an academic forum; it's a people place.
- Writings that tell personal stories -- yours or someone else's -- are also welcome.
- Information that individuals can actually apply to their own lives is always a plus.
- An outlaw quality is good.
- I won't accept articles that advocate conventional political action of any sort. (Yuch, ptooey! What a waste!) Governments are to be laughed at, disregarded, resisted, thwarted or kicked in the butt. "It's too late to work within the system..."
- The Lodge most particularly needs book and movie reviews and the short, highly topical pieces that make good, weekly "Sound-offs."
I admit that, up to now, a good Lodge piece has been "whatever Claire happens to like today." And there will always be an element of that in the selections that make it to the Lodge. No pretense of being unbiased! However, I welcome well-written, lively, provacative writings that broaden this site's view while still fitting its outlaw-freedom theme.
Of course, with the Lodge paying such Big Bucks ($00,000 per article), I can afford to be choosy .
Now, if you've got something you'd like to see on the Lodge, send away...
Many thanks,
Claire
