These images are copies of original tintypes in the possession of Dr. Bill Weldon (gg-grandson of Col. John Griffith's stepson, Oscar Weldon) of Austin, Texas. Photo of the "couple" being Col. John Griffith (late 40s/50s perhaps during1880s) and his wife, Catherine Weaver Weldon Griffith; and the photo on the right is John Griffith at a younger age (late 30s perhaps during Reconstuction/1870s).
