I am researching the surname LOWCAY all over the world. The earliest Lowcay I have discovered so far is an ELLIN LOWCAY who died in Malew on the Isle of Man, UK, on 14th March 1674. I believe that the Lowcays were Huguenots, originating in France. My line is through HENRY LOWCAY, born in Waterford in Southern Ireland in 1740.
After Henry, I have traced my Lowcay family in Dorset, Devonshire, and Cherbourg in Northern France. Then LEONORA DE LA TASTE LOWCAY married ALPHREIDE DUCOROY in Wizerne near St. Omar, France. They were my great grandparents.
If there is anyone out there researching LOWCAY or DUCOROY (I do know that a FREDERICK HENRY LOWCAY emigrated to Australia, and at least one other person is researching Lowcay in the USA) then I would love to hear from you.
