Diplomats in Law Enforcement

If you know of any Diplomats/Gran Furies in law enforcement or fire department use, please e-mail me!

I have seen a couple Diplomats used as security cars. I don't think many departments would still use M-bodies as patrol cars. Most likely they would be as detective cars.

Yellowstone National Park has an 86-89 Gran Fury as a Park Ranger's Car.

Brainerd, Minnesota, still has atleast one Diplomat used for traffic control.

Broadalbin, New York, uses a Diplomat as the backup squad car.

Cahokia, Illinois, still has 2 87 Diplomats.

The California Highway Patrol has a (believed to be) 83 Diplomat that is being restored.

Columbus Ga Police Dept still has a few Diplomats.

Dallas, Texas, still has 3 88 and 4 89 Diplomats.

Greefield, CA, still has a Diplomat.

The Georgia Department of Weights and Measures is believed to have a blue & gray Diplomat with a blue Aerodynic lightbar. This car was seen along I-75 at Cordele, Georgia, by Mike Omell.

La Bufadore, Mexico has a late 80's Diplomat in use.

A contributor has seen a great condition light blue diplomat, unknown age, in Long Island New York that is still in service parked in front of a fire house. Had Setina police push bumper and NY Official plates, and a red E-Z pass toll pass on windshield. Red is for emergency vehicles only.

Milwaukee PD still has two or three unmarked 88 Gran Furies left, with under 70K miles. They aren't used real often anymore though.

Nassau County in New York (Long Island) still uses unmarked Dips for its Detectives.

Mount Shasta City, California, has a Diplomat.

Oakland, California, still has some blue and gunmetal gray Diplomats used as detective and undercover cars.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Police still have many unmarked Plymouth Gran Fury's in use today. Most are detective's units, but a few are still used for special work, they have red-blue lights behind the grill. There are still about a dozen or so that in the parking lot of police headquaters every day.

Ravena, New York, possibly still has a Diplomat.

The City of Richmond (Virginia) still is using a few 1987 Dodge Diplomats and 1989 Plymouth Gran Furys. There are a number of unmarked cars still used by detectives. At least 1 marked patrol car is still in use, and may be seen parked at the 4th precinct in downtown Richmond as of 9/99.

Siskyou County, California, also has a Diplomat.

Twinsburg, Ohio, uses an 89 Gran Fury for patrol and traffic duties. This car is rumored to have a 360 engine in it.

Wayne County, Ohio, still uses two '88 Diplomats for rural patrol.

Wheatland, California, has an unknown year Diplomat.
