WHAT IS THE LONG ISLAND CFIDS ASSOCIATION?

The Long Island CFIDS Association is a Regional and National organization dedicated to combating all aspects of CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME and FIBROMYALGIA. Our organization and this web-site are run by people who suffer with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (PWC's) and Fibromyalgia.
We are also involved with the following:
LOCAL SUPPORT GROUPS
MEETING WITH MEMBERS OF CONGRESS
PUBLISHING ARTICLES
TELEVISION AND RADIO APPEARANCES
We also work to educate physicians, the media, and the public.


SUPPORT GROUP INFORMATION!

The Long Island CFIDS Association is involved with the running of 3 seperate support groups each month. There is no cost to attend and you need to do nothing more than show-up. This page will be constantly updated to keep you informed with "what's happening" at specific meetings.

SUFFOLK COUNTY MEETING - 1st Thursday of each month at Mather Hospital, Port Jefferson, NY, @ 7:30pm.
NASSAU COUNTY MEETING - 3rd Thursday of each month at Winthrop University Hospital, Mineola, NY, @ 7:30pm.
QUEENS COUNTY MEETING - 2nd Thursday of each month at Flushing Hospital, Flushing, NY, @ 7:30pm.
NEW YORK CITY - MANHATTAN - Feb. 21, Mar. 21, April 18, May 16, June 20. Meetings are from 4:00 to 6:45 PM @ St. Vincent's Hospital, West 12th Street at 7th Avenue. (Call 212-969-0516 for NYC only)

MAY 12TH INTERNATIONAL CFIDS AWARENESS DAY

The Long Island CFIDS Association was represented May 12, 1997 at the 5th Annual CFIDS Awareness Day Rally on the steps of The Capitol in Washington, DC. We met with Representatives, made speeches, and were responsible for getting the first-ever recognition from members of Congress during their special speeches that aired on C-Span. A video of the Awareness Day Rally is available. Transcripts of the speeches are available from this site.
