The Poochigian Family Camp-Out is coming soon.
Get your camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, lounging gear ready! Oh, and
don't forget your gourmet cooking & Bar-B-Q gear!
This is the thirteenth
annual event and it promises to be the best!!! We will once again be camping at
Shaver Lake, Camp Edison. Most of the alumni campers will be camping the entire week
of August 8 - 15.
On Thursday, Friday
& Saturday, we have use of a great large group camp area (like last year, only a
better spot). If the interest is there, Thursday night will be our Poochigian
Princess Debutante Presents, Poochigian Little Miss & The Great Poochigian Hunter
Awards. Friday night, our second annual rock & roll dance, AND, Saturday night,
the talent show & awards presentations.
Saturday, August 14,
is best for day campers. Again, we will take a group picture and eat together.
We reached 100 participants at this event again in 1998. (See Poochigian Camp 1998 photograph.)

About Camp Edison: http://www.campedison.com
The unique 250-acre camp was
built by Edison in a pine-forested site on the western shores of Shaver Lake approximately
50 miles northeast of Fresno. World famous hunting and fishing spots are easily
accessible. Hiking and horseback trails wind through some of the world's most
spectacular scenery. Pack stations offer trips to otherwise inaccessible points for
camping, fishing, or even amateur prospecting and 'rock collecting.'
In the late spring and summer,
families camp near Edison's chain of man-made lakes. Here, sailboats run before the
breeze and water skiers etch the surface of the crystal clear waters. There is
swimming, and for the hardy there are craggy peaks to scale. For those who pursue
the gentler recreation arts, the area is ideal for painting and photography and for study
of a variety of nature subjects.
