Hi, and welcome on behalf of Calvary Chapel Kagarlyk. At our site you can find out all kinds of neat things: who we are, how we work, pictures, latest news, etc. Things to look for in the future include our statement of faith (in English and Russian) and new pictures as well as continual updates about what's going on.
Our church was planted in September of '97 in the small city of Kagarlyk. Kagarlyk is an agricultural-industrial city with a population of 15,000. We started off giving English and computer lessons as well as playing some sports. We didn't (and haven't yet) use traditional "outreach evangelism" but spent a lot of time getting to know people because personal evangelism is so important to us, and we wanted people to see that from the beginning. It was long, slow work, but this year we are really beginning to see the Lord's blessing. Also, wanting be as similar to the New Testament church as possible, we chose to be a home group church. While we do have a Sunday morning service, our commitment to the priesthood of believers means that our greatest emphasis is on the home groups which encourage believers to minister to each other and to unbelievers.
