We are searching for our gr,gr,grandfather's family. If anyone has any information on Ed Lavender, born 1828,in Virginia. He married Eliza Hager Feb-21-1849. They had four children, Marrietta Lavender, John W. Lavender, Kate "Kittie" Lavender and James E. Lavender. Ed lived in Paintsville, Ky. till about 1859 at which time he left not telling anyone where he went.Edward was a Jailer in Johnson County, Ky in 1852. He also owned a Saloon in Paintsville. Edwards son John Wesley Lavender was a brick mason and helped build a lot of the turn of the century homes in Paintsville. Elizas uncle, Daniel Hager, was a General in the Militia. Elizas Grandfather, John Hager Sr., fought in the Revolutionary War. Edward had a grandson, Edward Paul "Toby" Lavender, who fought in WWI in the Navy. He was on the last coal burning ship the USS New York. Toby was the son of John Wesley "Tobe" Lavender. We are desperately seeking information on Edward Lavender.
