Saturn's Journal

April 5, 1999

The Easter holiday was great! Hazel and I got to play in the park for most of the day. Dogs and cats from the neighbourhood send their slaves to the park without them, so that the rabbits can safely bring their slaves for some fresh air and exercise. The other (non-bunny) slaves and their children like to tell our slaves how fortunate they are to be owned by rabbits (because we are so civilized and generous).

I hope that you all had a fantastic long weekend, too!

I know that Hazel's going to tell you all about why the slave's upset with us right now. Well, she's going to tell you most of the story, anyway. Here's the rest of it ...

The slave goes to a lot of trouble to find the best timothy hay for us bunz. Sometimes, she'll get a whole bunch of it all at once. Well, usually when she does that, she makes sure we can't get into it (or we don't know it's there).

Well, Hazel and I were exploring (after all, it's our house), and we found the box of hay, and managed to get up into it. We were happily playing and munching when the slave began to look for us. When she finally found us, I did the smart thing. I sat absolutely still. That way, she wouldn't be able to see me. Any self-respecting rabbit knows to keep still when you're in trouble!

I think someone forgot to pass that information on to Hazel, though. She kept right on eating, and moving around. If it weren't for her, we never would have been caught! The slave wouldn't have had a clue. sigh

Our slave took some photos. She said we looked very guilty, and thought somehow that was amusing. Then, she put us out of the box and covered it so we couldn't get back in.

Then she made an animated graphic with the photos she took. Watch my clever strategy to avoid capture. Notice how I seem to disappear into the hay ...

A new window will open with an animation.
The animation will play only once, but you can watch it as many times as you'd like. Just close the popup window and click on the button again.

I can't guarantee that the sound and animation will be timed perfectly.
It all depends on your system and internet connection.
Also, it tends to play better the second time around.

The animated graphic is 353 K.!
The .wav file that goes with it is 34.2 KB.
