Thank you for visiting PandaLi Shar-Pei. Although I am no longer showing or breeding these beautiful Shar-Pei, my heart still has a soft spot for them. On August 23rd, 2003, we (Michael, the wonderful man in my life, and I) could not pass up the opportunity to rescue a Shar-Pei that was at a "pet expo" here in Utah. We have named him Bear and will add his picture shortly. He is a wonderful addition to our family and is very very sweet and friendly, we can't phathom why anyone would abandon him!! It feels good to have Shar-Pei back in my life, it's been a long time.

PandaLi Shar-Pei was founded in Spring 1996 when I became owned by my first Shar-Pei, Akeila. She took over my heart and I knew that there wasn't another breed in the world that could steal my heart like the Shar-Pei did. It was then I decided that eventually I would like to breed the wonderful wrinkled wonders and possibly one day show them.

That dream came true on a sunny day in September 1997 when Beiling joined my family. I first met Beiling when she was only 3 weeks old. She was living on the coast of Oregon with her mom, Wrinky, and human grandma Pam. From the first time I saw her my eyes filled with tears and I knew my heart was lost forever to this precious little girl. We spent a wonderful weekend together with Pam and the Wrinklets and I couldn't wait til the day she would finally come to live with her new family in Nevada (now in Utah). Due to unfortanate circumstances, however, I had to give Beiling back to her wonderful Grandma, Pam. I have stayed in touch with Pam and she told me that Beiling has a wonderful new home with a new Mom, her name is Cheri, that I know will love her just as much as I do. Beiling will always stay forever dear to my heart and this web site is dedicated to both of the wonderful pei that stole my heart, that I will love forever and will never forget!!

A Shar-Pei

I will lend to you for a while, a Chinese Shar-Pei pup, God said,

For you to love him while he lives and mourn him when he's dead.

Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or only two or three.

But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?

He'll bring his charms to gladden you and (should his stay be brief)

You'll always have his memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return

But there are lessons taught below I want this pup to learn.

I've looked the whole world over in search of teachers true

And from the folk that crowd life's land, I have chosen you.

Now will you give him all your love nor think the labor vain.

Nor hate me when I come to take my Shar-Pei back again?

I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord Thy Will be done."

For all the joys this pup will bring the risk of grief we'll run.

We'll shelter him with tenderness, we'll love him while we may

And for the happiness we've known forever grateful stay.

But should you come to call him back much sooner than we've planned

We'll brave the bitter grief that comes and try and understand.

If, by our love, we've managed your wishes to achieve

In memory of him we loved, to help us whilst we grieve,

When our faithful bundle departs this world of strife,

We'll have yet another pup and love him all his life.
(Jill Harwood of England -Originally titled English Cocker Spaniel)

(I would also like to dedicate this poem in loving memory of my beloved Akeila, to whom I miss very much!)
