DO purchase a postage scale (some sell for as little as $10) to ensure proper postage especially when mailing Friendship Book's.(FB's are little books of 4 or 5 pages that each penpal signs with their address and hobbies and continues to pass it on. Once the FB is full, it sent back to the person it was made for.)

DON'T add an extra page to a FB to avoid sending it home to the person it was made for.

DON'T write a penpal and ask them to send money to you so that you can visit them.

DO always send a fill FB back to the person it was made for when you are the last person to sign it.

DO write interesting letters to keep your penpals interest in writing to you.

DON'T get so many penpals that penpaling becomes a job trying to keep up with them all.
