Hear the Children's Cry

Above the rush of human strain,
Beyond the steeples' pointed high,
Overlook the cloaks men feign;
And, hear the children cry.

See beyond our hardened hearts--
As the accusations fly.
Arrest the tempter's fiery darts
And, hear the children cry.

Look deep into shadow's gloom.
And, help us a tear drop dry.
Please forgive our fuss and fume.
And, hear the children cry.

Help us obey your Word--Go.
And give us your Grace to try.
Put on your shoes, wiggle your toes.
Because the children cry.

See the one in wheelchair ride
Because of bus that did go by.
From this bickering, let us hide.
And know, the children cry.

Yes, there's Billy Bob and Susie, too.
They came for a piece of pie.
Then You saved them--not just a few;
Oh, hear the children cry.

Like ole' Judas, forgive our sins.
Let us raise your standards high.
Help us sinners to enter in.
And, hear the children cry.

Yes, there's a fundamental's foe--
Found in a cause gone dry.
It's ringing in, "I will not go."
Do they hear the children cry?

Into highways, hedges compel;
As eternity does draw nigh.
Share God's news--a child tell.
Lord, hear the children cry.

Mrs. Kathy is my Preacher's wife and also one of my dearest friends. She and I often go soulwinning together and I nearly always learn something from her just from being with her. What a great godly lady! As you can already see, she is also a very talented writer!
