Shuttle Trivia!

I must tell you, it gets quite exciting around here when a space shuttle is up. Our satillite dish is pointed to Nasa Select, and we see live action via the shuttle. When they do a space walk, so do we. When they try to capture a satillite, we watch. When they are docking with MIR we are viewing it in real time. If you do not have a satillite dish (c-ban only...the big dish), perhaps your cable t.v. company carries it. If your cable t.v. company does not carry it, then ask them. It is an unscrambled channel on the satillite.

Here are some questions for you to test your knowledge of the Shuttle. After all, it is the most familier part of the space program!

And finally, here are the answers!

1. How many Shuttles total have been built? Can you name them?

2 How many Shuttles are flying right now? No, we don't mean literally. We mean, how many do they use, or how many are in their fleet?

3. Can you name them? (think about it, we bet you can!)

4. How many Shuttles have flown into space at one time or another?

5. What was the longest Shuttle Mission?

6. Where do they land? (And an answer of 'on the ground' will not do!)

7. Are all the Shuttles built identical?

8. How long does 1 orbit take? Time can be in minutes. Knowing that, how many sunrises do they see in a 24 hour period? (This is something they all comment about!)

We will be adding to this web site as time goes by. Until then, check out NASA's very own Shuttle web site: ShuttleWeb

Where are the answers? On the Shuttle Web, of course!

We will post them in time! Do your homework first!
