What Does a Community Leader Do?

Star

Being a Community Leader  (CL for short) for GeoCities can be a great learning and rewarding experience. You can meet lots of people as well as learn more about the Internet and web page design. However, being a CL means having responsibilities as well. The list is quite varied, but here are a few of them:

  • Answering emails from fellow GeoCitizens promptly and knowledgeably.
  • Checking out Featured Page applications as well as looking for Featured Page possibilities throughout BourbonStreet.
  • Monitoring assigned blocks for content violations.
  • Helping out in the Help Forum.
  • Giving input on the CL Program as a whole.
  • Being the best representative possible for GeoCities whether in chat rooms or responding to emails.
  • Helping fellow GeoCitizens to get their own pages set up.

Being a CL also involves being able to work well with others, fellow CL's as well as other GeoCitizens. You must have spare time to dedicate to working with the public as well as attending to your CL duties. Patience is a must as is the proper attitude when handling difficult situations. You have to be a mediator of sorts between your neighbors and GeoCities.

If after reading all of this you think you would make a good candidate for the CL Program, please check out  this page for more details!
