Kent's English and Education Page

Kent's Education Resources

This page is a source for a variety of educational links for teachers of all levels and skills. This is a clearinghouse of K-12 education links, and I am expanding it weekly. Right now you can find general education information and links to science, history, social studies, and math sources.

The Temple Magnet Schools provides one of the most varied sites for all teachers.

For a list of and links to educational newsgroups and listservs, go to the Woodring site provided by Western Washington University.

This site boasts tremendous ideas, tools, and guidelines for using internet technology in your classroom.

Falcon Educational Links contains a plethora of educational resources (and also has one of the coolest Shakespeare images you'll see!).

Scott Mandel has an excellent site called Teachers Helping Teachers. Here you can find proven lesson plans provided by other educators. Dr. Mandel has also posted a variety of educational resource links for all disciplines.

Classroom Connect provides a plethora of K-12 resources. Great site!

One of the best educational tabloids canbe found on the web. Visit Education Week on the Web for the latest in education news.

Social Studies/ History Links

Science Links

Here are some science links that some teachers have found useful.

Ag Links

Jeff Shireman has created the West Pike Ag Page. One of the best I've seen with lots of agriculture links and facts about the West Pike FFA Chapter and its activities.

As I teach in Illinois, I couldn't leave this page devoid of some links that especially pertain to teachers in the Land of Lincoln.

I am an aspiring member of the Illinois Principals' Association, and they offer a wide-range of ideas, workshops, and conferences for those who are or wish to become building administrators.

The top agency in Illinois concerning education is the Illinois State Board of Education. It's site can link to educational resources all over the country.

I am also a basketball and baseball official. In Illinois, high school athletics are sponsored by the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). Their site can give you all information about high school sports in Illinois.
