Disheartened

Some
manage
to uphold roles
that stand out more than others
in my mind.
Among these few
are numerous, and varied
reasons
as to why they do so.
Fortunately most are of a positive nature.
Hence, under the right
circumstances
a spark of concern
can be created.
You have done such a thing.
I can remember an attractive young woman
who seemed very confident and sure of herself;
ready for anything.
Now it would seem as though
that has changed somewhat,
because I can now sense
a degree of uneasiness
behind her words.
If there is just a chance
that this is true,
then
What has unraveled her self-confidence?
The answer to me is of no significance;
however, it would please me greatly
to see her as herself again.
