Barrier Of Fire III

Around the bonfire
we all sit as the flames grow higher
as another fire burns in my heart
Not one of fiery heat whose flames smart
but one of ... Oh,
if only the words were there, inside
so I could tell her on the other side
Instead all I am left with is a sketch
which is stretched
by the barrier of fire between us--
spoiling all but the sight of her brilliance
Hence, I wish I could see, know more; however,
the thought forever
shys me away from revealing all
and experiencing what I could call
"love?" ... In what would be a dream come true
If only I knew...
But the wall of changing forms remains
yielding only to my sight; it reigns
With no choice it is a cruel means
to view your dreams.
The barrier of fire burns, scolds--
separating you from your dreams as
it makes you ask in doubt if she will
always be on the other side... ?
No alternative but to keep on dreaming
