Thomas Fulton 10 September 1813 - 18 February 1859 was baptised at Dundee, Scotland, son of Thomas Fulton (d.1866), wrought-iron worker, and his wife Isabella, née Wheelwright, at Dundee, Forfarshire, Scotland and died Bendigo, Victoria, Australia when he fell down a mine-shaft. Thomas Fulton was in partnership 1845-55 with Robert Smith and George Annand. They erected a steam engine for the first mill in Melbourne and turned rack woolpresses for squatters, went on to invent other machinery. He was a Congregationalist lay leader, Port Phillip district (Victoria), Australia, also farming machinery manufacturer. He was survived by his wife Elizabeth, née Black, and seven of eight children.
