The Player of the Year title is awarded for the best overall performance during a calendar year. HOW IT WORKS The points allocated depend on the size of the field (F) and the player's final placing in the tournament: 1st = F + 20; 2nd = F + 6; 3rd = F; nth = F - n + 1 An average is then taken of the player's N best rounds for the year depending on how many tournaments the player competed in: 5 or 6 tournaments: N = 5 7 or 8 tournaments: N = 6 9 or 10 tournaments: N = 7 11 or 12 tournaments: N = 8 A player must compete in at least 5 tournaments during the year to be eligible. If you aren't confused at this stage, then you should consider an actuarial career! |
