So we are doing analysis of  individual programs and doing necessary code changes and performing unit testing and support during System testing.   A common date routine has been developed  and used for all logical operations involving dates. The routine has been developed to standardise the coding for date  comparisons. This routine is used as a called program. The two dates and the logical operators are passed to the program  and it returns to a return code which is then  evaluated to determine the truth value of the  logical operation. The program may also be used for subtraction of a number of years from another year.

5.   E C C F (Europay Common Clearing Format) First Data Resources, UK   (Oct 96 - May 97)

In brief, when card holders use there payment cards(plastics) in shops, garages, hotels, etc.
(collectively known as ‘Merchants’) for any purchase, they create what is called a transaction. Depending on
the value of transaction this may be preceded by an authorisation request from the Merchant, where FDR will
verify that the card holder has sufficient ‘funds’ for the transaction. FDR Ltd. does this either by looking at the card holder’s file or by going out to the relevant card issuer via the many networks connections FDRL has. If the
authorisation is declined, then that is the end of the transaction. If the transaction is approved, however,
FDR will receive details and at the time of authorisation request it is possible for FDRL to capture all of the
transaction details electronically. ECCF Charge back Splitter module.  This module creates a file Europay
incoming chargebacks and representations.  Using the details passed in ECCF format it converts the ECCF layout
to the existing equation chargeback formats and creates output files for use by settlement.  Europay Incoming and out going interchange processes was amended to use the ECCF interchange format  replacing the ECC Extended interchange format. All Europay record types were affected including Chargebacks, Retrievals, Miscellaneous Fees and Detailed Position records, in addition to the standard Financial Detail batches.
