By the grace of ALMIGHTY ALLAH and by His endeavour and love the SURAT ISLAM YATIMKHANA SOCIETY has completed 86    Years and has entered into 87th year.  I am glad to present the Annual Reports and Audited Accounts for the 86th year(2002-   2003) of the   Society.
The Children of Yatimkhana:
The children of our orphanage has successfully achieved the responsibility of imparting education and religious training to 228 students during the year.During the financial year as on dated 1/4/2002 SURAT ISLAM YATIM KHANA SOCIETY  was liable for the responsibilities of  228 orphan students and during the year 64 new students had been admitted. During the same year 57 students had been terminated from the SIYS due to the following reasons and the total number of students left with the society was 233 at the    ending year 31 - 03 -2003.

The tuition facilities for students from standard 1 to 10 were arranged at the Yatimkhana Premises and for the students of std. 11, 12 and college the tuition facilities were made available in town. The total expenses incurred by the society for the purpose of education including tuition and coaching classes to the students during the financial year was   Rs.7, 26,421/-.SIYShas arranged tuition for students from standard 1 to 12 and college, the tutors who had been appointed were highly Qualified and experienced.  Total 9 tutors were appointed for the different subjects besides tutors for the subjects like URDU and GUJARATI.

Results of The Annual Examination:-
Outstanding Performance: -
1. In the Examination of H.S.C. (STD. 12): March 2003 which was conducted by GSEB, Gandhinagar, SIYS's student Malek A. Salam Abdur Rehman passed with 74.33% and secured the first position in the ANGLO URDU HIGH SCHOOL. School  honoured him by presenting Trophy, Cash money as well Certificate.
2. City primary education committee organised inter city sports day 2003 in which our Society student namely Gulam Mohammed A. Mukim Shaikh secured the first place in Wrestling in intercity Wrestling and thus made proud for the society as well as school, he was honoured by a Silver Medal and a Certificate.

Dini (Religious) / Education: - 
    Under the Supervision of Maulana Saiyed Khalil Ahmed Kazi Randeri during the morning and evening hours, SIYS students are being taught the Quraan and they are being examined twice in a year. In both the exams. students secured good grades, and prizes honoured to some of the brilliant students. During the year the following scholars offer their services to SIYS.

3. Hafiz Ejaz Ahmed Mehendihasan Khan.

For the students who secured first three positions in Annual school Examination 2003 and those students who secured  first three positions in Madressa the Prize distribution ceremony was conducted in order to motivate them. The above  programme was organised under newly appointed President Mr. Mohd. Umar Mohd. Amin General, and in presence of  Former President Mr. Gulamnabi Silkwala who was also chief guest on the 29/6/ 2003, the Sunday at 11: 00 A.M. at the SIYS MadressaHall. The function was inaugurated with Tilawwat-e-Quraan  followed by Nazam and Naatsharif which was recited  by the students. The student of std. 8th namely Mansuri Jaafar had delivered a good speech on achieving the education, in context of Hadith and the Holy Quran.The other chief guests of the ceremony were Mufti Arif Sb, Mr. Allahrakhhu Fakir Mohd. And SuratHalaiMemon Committee's president Mr.Younus Chakkiwala who with their benign presence made this occasion a grand success.  Later, SIYS Vice President Mr. Saiyed Ahmed Saiyed Habib Baghdadi explained and described the importance of knowledge and how the knowledge can lead them further to grow faster and better.The first three toppers of the school and the Madressa had been honoured by giving them Wrist Watches, Medals, Cash money and Certificates etc.
Prize Distribution Ceremony: - During the programme the Secretary Mr. Anis Hakim and the organiser of the function Mr. Mahmood Vakil announced  an Appeal for donation for a Medical Relief Fund and requested the distinguished guests to make the contribution for this noble cause which was heartily accepted by the guests presented during the programme. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Mahmood Vakil, and theJoint secretary Mr. Noor Ahmed Patel presented vote of thanks.

    Surat City's 86 years old SIYS had organized 4th Group Nikah  Ceremony for Yatim Girls on Sunday dated 26/01/2003 at11:30 A.M. at SIYS Compound. In this Massive Nikah Ceremony 27 orphan girls got married of Surat City.  Surat, Jalgao,  Bardoli, Nani Naroli, Mota Varachha, Kim Kothwa, Gandhar, Choranda, Pahaj, Anand and Tadkeshwar from where  bridegrooms come to get married. Maualanan Qari A.Rashid Ajmeri Sb. accomplished the Nikah Ceremony followed  by a  Dua.Since last years the total number of girls married through SIYS is 84 and this year's married Girls' list is given in the report. To every married Girls SIYS has provided them with Steel Cupboard, Plastic chairs, Silver Jewellery sets, 10 pairs of  clothes, Bed sheet, Bed-Cushion-Blanket, Steel Utensils, Melamine Dinner set, Cooking vessels like Stove, Cooker, Juicer Mixer, Electric Iron, Wall clock and other miscellaneous household items including Quraan Sharif with Mushallah were given immediately after Nikah, during which many well-wishers and donors made valuable contributions. After the Group Nikah ceremony, there was a small banquet, for that purpose the followers and approvers of Muslim  community managed foods and other arrangements. Mr. Abdur Rehman Tapali arranged stage decoration, chairs, tables and kitchen utensils, which were honorary.   The objective of SIYS behind this group marriage is to give a family status to the orphan girls and generate unity and brotherhood among the people. To generate awareness in the upper class to have some pity and consideration for the   orphans who can be further helpful to the whole community and mankind and thus to save the precious time of the people. For getting the orphan girls married the Nikah Committee's organizer Mr. Noor Ahmed Patel and along with him Nikah Committee's member Mr. Mohd. Umarbhai General, Mr. Hajibhai Silkwala, Mr. Munnabhai Doctor, Mr. Afzal Waheed Kalam, Mr. Hanif Manju, Mr. A. Gaffar Favourite, Mr. Abdul Wahab Navsariwala, and whole Yatimkhana staff members who have   undertaken much pain, work stress and were helpful in organizing and welcoming people, along with the President of SIYS (Surat Islam Yatimkhana Society) , Mr. Iqbal Bombaywala and the Secretary Mr. Anis Hakim.The ongoing activities of the Group Marriage will be carried out next year in January 2004 as usual Insha-Allah, in which all the helpful Voluntary members and people desiring to help the society, is requested to contact the General Secretary. 
Orphan Girl Students Education Help: -
  There is no separate place for the orphan girls in the Surat` City, so to help the girls within the limit of SMC, Society offers them School fees, 2 pairs of School Uniform, Books and Note books etc. As per this policy last year, in respect of educational help 66 orphan girls students had been approved valuing Rs. 1, 27,296/-.The students names are mentioned in the Annual Report. As per this policy since last four years the total number of 147  orphan girls were able to fulfill their educational needs.
SIYS Industrial Training Centre: -
Mufti Saiyed A.Rahim Lajpuri (R.A.) And Maulana Mohd. Raza Ajmeri (R.A.) Computer Centre: -
The Computer Centre was established on 22-8-95 under which the courses such as Basic course, Computer Accounting,    Office Automation, Graphics, Internet and Software Programming are conducted in short term duration and career oriented courses are also conducted.From Sept.1995 till 2003, 1892 students were admitted out of which 667 students left midway without completing their courses  in stipulated period of time. Total 1193 students appeared for examination out of which 1148 students passed the exam  successfully and only 45 students failed.In Boys Computer Centre for the year 2002 to 2003, 139 students were admitted out of which 73 students left in between  without completing their courses in stipulated period of time and only 76 students have completed their course and have passed successfully and were presented with Certificates. Remaining students are still studying.The total details of students for the year April 2002 to March 2003 are being presented in report. Currently in Computer Centre Mr. Shaikh Mohd. Rafik as a Centre in-charge and Mr. Bukhari Saiyed Nasir are giving their services to the Society.
Girls Computer Centre: -
From May 1996 till March 2003, 573 students were admitted out of which 88 students left in between without completing their courses in stipulated period of time and 463 students appeared for examination out of which only 10 students failed and remaining students were able to pass with good grades.In Girls Computer Centre, since April 2002 till March 2003, 66 students were admitted out of which 2 left in between without completing their Courses in stipulated period of time. 43 students appeared for examination and passed, and honoured with Certificates. The remaining students are still studying.
Girls Sewing/Stitching Classes: -
SIYS is having Government recognised courses for T.T.N.C.(Teachers' Training Course in Niddle Craft), Embroidery and fancy works, Garment making courses etc. During Vacation, courses such as Private Sewing course, fabric printing, Jardoshi-bharat, cooking and candle making etc. are being conducted by our Society, which is for short duration.Embroidery and fancy work course: - From June 2002 till March 2003 the total number of students admitted was 30 out of which 7 students left in between without completing their courses in stipulated period of time and 23 remaining students have appeared for the Examination in June 2003. T.T.N.C. (Teacher's Training Course In Niddle Craft): - From July 2002 till March 2003, 10 students were admitted which 2 students left midway without completing their course in stipulated period of time and 8 students have appeared for the Examination in June 2003.
Details of Students of the year April 2002 till March 2003 are presented in this report. Currently in the Sewing Class Vakharwala Asma and Dhupli Sugra bibi have been serving as instructors and Raziyabanu Shaikh has been serving as a Peon.

Auditing And Accounting:-
During the financial year 2002-2003 the account was audited by M/S. Natwarlal Vepari &amp; Co. and has been kept before the General Board's Meeting. During the financial year the expenditure incurred by the Society was higher than its income and the net deficit during the financial year was about Rs.3 lakhs. In view of this great deficit experienced by the Society much and much considerable attention must be paid to increase the society's income and reduce the deficit. An humble Appeal and request is hereby made to all the community people to extend their possible help and co-operation by giving their valuable donation to the society, all the time. 
Qurbani:-
SIYS organized Qurbani for which the fraction of the Qurbani could be availed  by paying Rs. 400/-. The poor and needful people of the city and orphan students were distributed from the above proceeds.The above programme was convened under the leadership of Mr. Mushtaq Golandaz.So it's a humble request to the whole Muslim Community that in coming next year to undergo their Qurbani through SIYS to serve the Community as well as the mankind.

Results of The Annual Examination:-
Outstanding Performance: -
Alhamdulillah the Govt. has recognized our society for running the COPA Course of I.T.C. COPA (Computer Operator Programming Assistant) course was started in the year Sept. 2001 and this year 2nd batch will be completing their course. In the last year batch, there were 7(seven) students who appeared and passed the examination successfully with good grades and the result was 100%. All the passed students received the certificate from DIRECTORATE OF EMPLOYMENT  & amp; TRAINING OF GUJARAT, enhancing the reputation of our society. During the year Aug. 2002 -2003, 14 students were admitted out of which 3 left because of their family and financial problem and left after completing 1st semester and 1 student was terminated because of his over-age (above 25 years) and the remaining 10 students will be appearing in the examination July 2003.  To secure an admission in COPA the eligibility is 12th passed and he should not be above the age of 24 years. The duration of the  course is 1 year and the timing is from morning 8.00 to 3.00 and the applicable fee is Rs. 3600/-. The biggest advantage of this course is that it is being Government Recognized by N.C.V.T. pattern (The National Council for Vocational Training) in which students can learn about computer fundamentals till programming. There is a lot of demand in national as well as international market for this course of students.The Principal of this Centre (Government Recognized I.T.C.) is Mr. Anis Hakim. The Centre In-charge is Mr. Mohd. Rafik Shaikh, Group instructor is Mr. Zuber Patel, clerk is Mr. Hanif Patel are serving in the Centre.

Ijtimah-e-Nikah : -
During this financial year 14 patients have taken the advantage of Free Bed Scheme in Mahavir General Hospital, Surat. The list of the patients who availed the above facilities are presented in the report.Surat Islam Yatimkhana Society has given substantial donation to Mahavir Cardiac Hospital against which society can avail Rs. 64,000/- every year for the treatment of  the poor and needful cardiac patients.This facility will be available to the society for a period of 20 years. Last year 24 patients took the advantage under the funds available from the above scheme, the list of which is annexed in the report.
