He's effectionately called 'Krishnanna' by his friends and party mates he's our Mayor Mr. Teegala Krishna Reddy who stands taller than others with long moustache.

Hailing from a family steeped in agriculture Mr. Krishna Reddy born in 10-6-1947 in Meerpet village in Ranga Reddy dist. He got his primary and secondary education from Aliza Kotla school and Asafia high school in Malakpet graduated in Arts from Nizam college.

Mr.Krishna Reddy entered politics in the year 1982 by joining the Telugu Desam Party he was elected as city president of T.D.P in the year 1985 to 1987 then he became HUDA chairman in the year 1987 to 1989 and from 1997 to till on date he is continuing as chairman.He was also chairman for Bhagyanagar co-operative bank.

In 1986 M.C.H elections he lost Moosaram bagh division, he also contested for Hyderabad parliamentry elections for twice but he lost both the elections. In an intense see-saw battle Teegala Krishna Reddy emerged victorious for the first time . As a mayor I will change "Old City into Gold City" in my tenure says in an exclusive interview with us .

How are planning your day as a Mayor ?
As I said before I will be available to every body at any time on Mondays-I meet officers, on Tuesday- meetings with corporaters, Wednesday-meeting representatives from slums, women groups and face to face programmes. Thursdays- city level co-ordiation committe meeting Friday- with press Saturday-meeting old city residents and officers from HUDA, AP TRANSCO, HMWS&SB, APSRTC, REVENUE.

What are your plans for regularisation of building construction.
As per the Building Regulatory Act the newly built buildings should be regularised if any body fails we take action as per the law.

What are your plans for improving sanitary situation in the city.
I give the assurance that I am going to take all necessary steps for this sanitary problem in the city by cleaning nalas, spraying D.D.T, (Dichloro Diphenyl Trichloroethene) lifting up garbage every day.

Your plans for the beautification of the city.
Since I have always been connected with beautifying the city. I want to extend the Clean & Green city concept and create a dynamic interface between people and the corporation we will develop 30 major M.C.H parks and try to create at least one park for each ward we plan to popularise HUDA's 'Adoption Scheme' also.

As part of your electrol campaign you have promised Krishna waters in three years to the city what are you doing about it.
We are serious about tackling water problem in the city. I promised and I shall bring Krishna waters to the city in three years. The Government has already committed Rs 875 crores to the project development of Mir Alam Tank is also on our agenda.

Your plans regarding the development of old city
The old city will be changed into gold city in coming up years. The old city has a great potential to develop into an important tourist destination road widenings, cleaning roads, beautification, and night bazar will also be taken up and also developing Yousuf Guda park and as I told you I plan to spend saturdays there. So that part of the city gets enough attention.

Now the corporation has fractured mandate no party has clear majority how do propose them to take along with you.
Even though the corporation has a fractured mandate I appeal all the corporaters to co-operate with me to develop this Hyderabad as a model city.

The M.I.M and Congress apposed to involve M.L.A's and M.P's for electing Deputy Mayor how do you react to that.
You see sir M.I.M and Congress are rejected by the people they don't have any right to talk anything about us, since we are going as per the law.

You are still HUDA chairman and also the Mayor of Hyderabad do you think it is advantageous to you.
Smiles, Not only HUDA Iam the city president of T.D.P if high command wants to continue I will continue if not I am going to resign.

What is your fore most priority.
The fore most priority is slum dvelopment we are planning to provide street lights to all slums by the end of 2002. We are planning to initiate interactive programme by providing incentives(Rs 1000 per month ) for women in slums to wok in consonance with the M.C.H. Awards will be presented to the cleanest slum.
