1992 -1993 SEASON

1992- 1993 REVIEW In Pearl River's second season of varsity competition, the Pirates finished with a 3-13-1 record. The season was highlighted by one of the most incredible upsets in Rockland hockey history. The Pirates upset the favored Nyack Indians in double overtime 4-3. Two nights later, the Pirates upset the Sleepy Hollow / Edgemont team in overtime to win the Section 1 local playoff championship. The Pirates received outstanding play from Mark Flaim, Denis Bergin, goalie Chris Morrissey, and Captains Tom Tuzzolino, Jim Cahill, and Peter Costanzo.

1993 - 1994 REVIEW Pearl River finished with a League III record of 6-3-1. Captains Denis Bergin, Mark Flaim, and Tom Tuzzolino led the team as they captured their first Howie Kosel Sportsmanship Award.

1995 - 1996 REVIEW Captains Joe Ebeling, Anthony De Marco, Brian Bond and Craig Lennon led this Pearl River team to a league record of 8-5-5. They received the Howie Kosel Team Sportsmanship Award from the Westchester-Rockland Interscholastic Ice Hockey League.

1996 - 1997 REVIEW This Championship team was led by Captain Joe Ebeling and Alternate Captains Chris Tierney and Dan Wilson. They finished the season with many honors including League Champions, with an undefeated league III record of 7-0-1. Head Coach Anthony Capone was voted Coach Of The Year by the Westchester-Rockland Interscholastic Ice Hockey League and the Rockland Journal News..

Joe Ebeling # 8 Center (5 Varsity Letters) Joe is currently married and teaching in upstate NY. He was P.R. Captain for 3 years. He leads P.R. with the records for "most career goals" at 42, "most career assists" at 50, "most career points" at 92, "most assists in a season" at 18, and "most points in a season" at 38

Justin McGrath #20 Defense (3 Varsity Letters) Justin attended the University of Delaware

Chris Tierney #16 Center (2 Varsity Letters) Chris attended Marist College, where he played for the Red Foxes Hockey Team. He is now an Orangetown Police Officer.

Dan Wilson #31 Goal (3 Varsity Letters)

1997 - 1998 SEASON

1997 - 1998 REVIEW The Pirates were led by Captains Derek Hunter and Eugene Peron. The Alternate Captains were Mike Lang, Brendan Long, Dan Strazza and Mike Kroner. After the 96-97 Championship year, the team moved up to League II, where they finished with a League II record of 2-4-2. (Their League III crossover record was 5-0-0). This team was also the first to receive the NYS High School Scholar/Athlete Team Award.

1998 - 1999 REVIEW In the Pirate's 8th varsity year (their second in League II), the team finished with a 6-10-1 record, led by Captain Derek Hunter and Alternate Captain Mike Lang. The team won the NYS High School Scholar/Athlete Team award for the second straight year.

Derek Hunter # 5 Center (4 Varsity Letters) Derek attended SUNY Cortland where he played hockey for Cortland's club team. He was a 2 year Captain and was named to the Westchester-Rockland All-League team

1999 - 2000 REVIEW The Pirates finished the season with a league record of 5-5-1 to put them in third place. They were led by Captains Hayes Griffin, Dan Warner and Steve DelSavio to the Howie Kosel Team Sportsmanship award, and the NYS High School Scholar/Athlete Team award.

Steve DelSavio #12 Wing (4 Varsity Letters) Steve is at Pace University, where he is also playing baseball.  He was named to the Westchester-Rockland All-League team and a Captain for P.R.  

Hayes Griffin # 4 Defense (4 Varsity Letters) Hayes is at Johns Hopkins University. An All-State football player, he made the Varsity football team as a freshman at Hopkins.  He earned the Scholar-Athlete award from the Rockland Journal News for hockey, and the Doc Rasbeck Scholar-Athlete award from the league. He was a P.R. Captain

Sean Reilly #22 Wing (3 Varsity Letters) Sean is attending Rockland Community College.  He is a volunteer firefighter in Pearl River and also works for the town.

2001 - 2002 SEASON

2001 - 2002 REVIEW  The Pirates finished the season as League III Champions with a record of 11-2-1.  They were led by Captains Brian DelSavio, Ed Tracy, Ricky Kostik, and Greg Reisenauer.

Greg Reisenauer #47 Defense (4 Varsity Letters) Greg will be a sophomore at Marist.  He was a P.R. Captain and earned All-League Honorable Mentions in '01-02

Ed Tracy #21 Center (4 Varsity Letters) Ed is attending Penn State.  He was a P.R. Captain and earned All-League Honorable Mentions in '01-02

Kevin Walsh #27 Forward (4 Varsity Letters) Kevin earned All-League Honorable Mentions in '01-02.  He attends Albany State.

Brian DelSavio #23 Forward (4 Varsity Letters) Brian will be playing for the hockey team at Franklin Pierce College. He was a P.R. Captain. He holds the Pearl River records for Most Career Goals, Assists and Points.

Pat Kerley #25 Defense (4 Varsity Letters) Pat will be a freshman at South Hampton College.

Ricky Kostik #27 Forward (4 Varsity Letters) Ricky will be a freshman at Stone Hill. He was a P.R. Captain and earned both League MVP and All-League in '02-03. He holds the Pearl River record for Most Goals in a Season; and shares the record for Most Points in a Season.

Tom Lang #47 Defense (4 Varsity Letters) Tom will be a freshman at S.U.N.Y. Oneonta. He earned All-League Honorable Mentions in '02-03.

Keith Lattuca Keith will be attending Salve Regina College.

Christopher Reilly Christopher will be a freshman at the University of South Florida.  He was a P.R. Captain and the recipient of the Russ Simons Sportsmanship Award in 02-03. He was also named to the All-League team in '02-03.  He shares the Pearl River records for Most Points and Most Assists in a Season.
